US President and his wife test positive for COVID-19

President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19.
Mr Trump revealed the news in a tweet at around 6 am EST today.
It is thought that one of the President's aides, Hope Hicks, also tested positive for the virus. Once Mr Trump and his wife found out about this, they started to self-isolate.
The 31-year-old advisor travelled with Mr Trump on his way to the first presidential debate against Joe Biden on Tuesday.
It is not clear whether this news will affect the second presidential debate, which is due to broadcast on the 15th of October.
According to America's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a person who tests positive for COVID-19 must quarantine for ten days.
Dr Sean Conley, Mr Trump's physician, stated that the couple were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence".
