President Donald Trump will return to his public duties by this weekend, his doctor has revealed.

Dr Sean Conley said that Mr Trump was responding "extremely well" his medication and was "stable" through his coronavirus treatment.

This comes as the president said he might take a COVID-19 test today as he wanted to hold a rally over the next two days.

Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, raised concerns that significant questions surrounding Mr Trump's condition were still unknown.

She stated that she was planning to set up a commission, under the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution, to evaluate the president's fitness and health for office to "ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership".

President Donald Trump responded to Ms Pelosi's announcement on Twitter.
