A young child was hit by a car in Accrington yesterday, according to Lancashire Police.
The 20-month-old girl fell from the back door of a Toyota Prius before being hit by a Peugeot at 3 pm yesterday, at the junction of Eastgate and the exit to Eastgate Retail Park.
The toddler has been taken to Manchester Children's Hospital for head injuries.
The driver and passenger within the Toyota have been arrested by police whilst the Peugeot driver, a 50-year-old woman, was not arrested nor sustained any injuries.
Detective Inspector Paul Langley said that police are appealing to the public for any information and any witnesses to come forward, especially those that have dashcam footage of the incident or those that saw the Toyota before the collision.
