Egyptian court acquits two female TikTokers jailed for debauchery and attacking societal values.
According to a court official, the court accepted the appeal against their imprisonment after they had been sentenced for two years in prison back in July.
One of the young influencers, Haneen Hossam, was arrested earlier in 2020 when she posted a clip of herself stating that other girls could work with her to earn some money. Through this video, Hossam was accused of "attacking public morals".
The other TikToker, Mawada al-Adham, was arrested in May 2020 for posting a satirical video on her account.
Hossam and Al-Adham join several others arrested for using TikTok in Eqypt in the last few years, in an alleged incitement of "debauchery", including the arrests of dancers and singers posting dance videos on the social networking service.
