Three people have died, and three more have been seriously injured and taken to hospital after a stabbing in Forbury Gardens park in Reading yesterday at 7 pm.

According to witnesses, the attacker walked up to groups of people in the park and stabbed them in the neck and arms.

Khairi Saadallah, believed to be a 25-year-old Libyan asylum seeker, has been arrested and held on suspicion of the attack. Although the stabbing is being treated as a terrorist incident without a clear indication of a motive, police have said that they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the attack.

Despite this, members of the public with any information are encouraged to contact the police, so far forty-one witnesses have come forward.

Police are still working with the coroner to identify the victims and contact their next of kin.

This incident has been noted by analysts as the third terrorist attack to happen in the UK where two people have died, since the threat level was downgraded from "severe" to "substantial" in November. Two of those attacks were carried out by lone attackers, which the recent incident in Reading could be classified as.
