Singer, Harvey Leigh Cantwell, more commonly known as HRVY, has tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

This comes just ten days before the YouTube star was due to appear as one of the new contestants in Strictly Come Dancing's 18th series.

Despite the news, HRVY is still expected to take part in the dancing series.

A BBC spokesperson said that "rigorous protocols" were in place to manage the safety of all of those involved in the show.

Contestants within the show can rehearse, perform and return to the families every night which conforms to the government's coronavirus rules, the BBC announced.

Current NHS guidelines state that those with positive test results will need to quarantine for ten days.

Strictly's live shows are due to start on the 24th of October.
