Seven crew members of the Stena Impero freed after Iranian detainment, according to state television.
Abbas Mousavi, the Foreign Ministry spokesman for Iran, told state broadcasters that the seven detainees would be able to leave Iran soon.
He also revealed that the crew members were released on humanitarian grounds.
The Stena Impero, a British oil tanker, was detained with its 23 crew members back in July.
Iran claimed that the vessel had broken international maritime rules, while operators of the Stena Impero disagree with this claim.
Two weeks before this, on July 4, an Iranian tanker called Adrian Darya 1 was detained off Gibraltar by UK forces.
It was suspected that the vessel was violating EU sanctions on Syria. However, it was released on August 15.
