Margaret Ferrier, MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, is facing calls to resign after she admitted to travelling to London from Glasgow on Monday with COVID-19 symptoms.
The SNP MP also returned to Glasgow on Tuesday after receiving a positive result from her COVID-19 on Monday evening.
Ms Ferrier has been self-isolating at home since Tuesday and has informed the police about her movements.
She said that the reason she travelled to Westminster in the first place, was because she was feeling better from her symptoms.
Since the news, Ms Ferrier has apologised for her actions and has been suspended from the party, with some party members have urged that she should step down.
The SNP leader in Westminster, Ian Blackford, told the BBC: "Nobody is above the law, nobody is above the regulations".
Ms Ferrier's actions, which brought her into contact with people when she should have been quarantining, could land her a £4,000 fine for a first-time breach of rules that came in this week.
