Yellow severe weather warning issued by The Met Office, as floods and high winds sweep the UK today.
The severe weather has cut power to several homes and businesses in Ireland.
Travelling by road or rail could take much longer as some authorities recommend essential and necessary travel only.
Snow showers have also affected large parts of the UK, especially in Wales, north-west England and Ireland.
The Met Office's warning covers most of northern England, the capital, the south-west, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
According to the Met Office's predictions for the rest of the week, more snow and freezing fog are set to arrive.
