Students have been instructed to self-isolate after an alleged coronavirus outbreak in university accommodation.

Parker House in Dundee, housing around 500 residents, is being investigated by NHS Tayside after reports of one positive student case from Abertay University.

The university has urged students that begin showing symptoms to book a test.

This comes as earlier this month Scottish students returned to COVID-19 regulated university campuses, however, several universities have reported cases within their accommodations.

It was reported yesterday that a few students in Wavell House at Aberdeen University were found to be positive with coronavirus, all residents in the accommodation have been asked to self-isolate for two weeks.

On the same day, it was revealed that the University of Glasgow was dealing with more than 20 students testing positive in Cairncross House.

According to university sources, both universities are supporting the self-isolating students with food and other essential supplies.
