Scotland's young students to return to school from Monday, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.
The First Minister said that from next week, all pupils from P1 to P3 and all pre-school students would resume face-to-face teaching.
All other pupils will continue their studies from home as all other lockdown restrictions are set to stay in place until March 2021.
The move comes as Ms Sturgeon stated that "children's education and wellbeing is such a priority".
This comes as Scotland's "hopeful" vaccination programme continues to contain the spread of coronavirus.
It is thought that this phased return of students to schools marks the beginning of the Scottish government's plan to ease the nation out of lockdown slowly.
Whereas for England's pupils, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson hopes to start reopening schools on the 8th of March, although this will depend on the vaccination rates amongst priority groups.
