Phoenix Mayor apologises after viral video of alleged police threats.

Mayor Kate Gallego tweeted a statement at 5.03 pm last Saturday about the video, depicting an altercation between a black family and a group of police officiers on May 27th 2019.
The officers were responding to a supposed shoplifting incident at a Family Dollar store, where a four-year-old daughter had taken a doll without her parent's knowledge or consent.
The proceeding events took place on camera, showing the officers shouting at the family to get out of their car and then threatening to shoot them.
The video, which is just over five minutes long, has received over 25 thousand views on YouTube in the last five days.
Gallego has commented on the police officers actions as "completely inappropriate and clearly unprofessional".
Jeri Williams, the Phoenix police chief, has said that an investigation into the incident will take place.
A lawyer representing the parents of the family has said that the officers had committed battery, false arrest and unlawful imprisonment. Furthermore, the infliction of emotional distress and violation of the family's civil rights.
