Nearly 29 percent of Muslim members and supporters of the UK's Labour Party have faced Islamophobia, a new report finds.
The Labour Muslim Network conducted a survey found that one in four Muslim officials, within the opposition party, were subjected to stereotypes such as being called "terrorists", "foreigners" and "grooming gangs".
The survey also found that over half of the respondents did not have faith in the Labour Party to tackle anti-Muslim sentiment within their ranks.
Around 422 Muslim members and supporters were interviewed for the report between July and August and the findings will be published this weekend.
This comes as earlier this year, Trevor Philips was suspended from the party over allegations of Islamophobic and prejudicial comments against Muslims, when he stated in a BBC Radio 4 interview "Muslims are different".
