Extinction Rebellion has blocked access to three printing presses owned by media mogul, Rupert Murdoch.

Over 100 activists targeted presses in Hertfordshire, Merseyside and North Lanarkshire at around 10 pm last night.

They used vans to block the roads to the presses as well as people chaining themselves to buildings and each other. 13 protesters have been arrested this morning.

National newspapers including the Sun, the Sun on Sunday and the Times have been delayed due to the blockage. The environmental movement criticised the papers for failing to report on climate change and polluting the national debate.

The Sun tweeted that the incident was an "attack on free speech".

Extinction Rebellion has planned ten days of protests and demonstrations as they demand the government to declare action a climate and ecological emergency.
