The monthly beauty and fashion magazine, Marie Claire UK, will become a digital-only publication by the end of 2019.

The new online content will, according to TI Media (the publisher of Marie Claire UK), assist the ever-digitised needs of audiences.

Marie Claire UK has been running for 31 years, and its closure will affect around 35 members of staff.

Many consumers of beauty and fashion content are moving their focus to online sources, resulting in difficulties for print publications within this sector.

Print sales for the magazine have fallen, and in attempts to recover some profits, the cover price in Feb 2018 was increased by £0.21.

This move could be seen as accommodating the needs of an-ever online consumer craving (Marie Claire's website brings two million monthly users), or perhaps just another famous publication no longer available at local newsagents.
