David Chambers, 33, has been accused of misleading Kathleen Martin, 92, into paying for £260 coronavirus vaccine on the 30th of December 2020.
Current UK coronavirus vaccines are free.
Allegedly, Mr Chambers visited Ms Matin's home in Surbiton and pressed something into the back of her wrist, reportedly claiming that he had been sent there to administer the vaccine to her.
It is thought that Ms Martin was targeted as a vulnerable individual.
Mr Chambers, currently in custody and seen through a video link from Wandsworth Prison, pleaded not guilty to his counts of fraud and battery at Kingston Crown Court.
The trial will begin on the 9th of August.
