French products have been boycotted in Arab countries due to President Emmanuel Macron's comments on Islam.
Earlier in October, the president sparked opposition when he said that Islam was a religion in a global "crisis".
Although his initial statement seemed to urge the government to counter "Islamist separatism" within French Muslim communities, his recent views on the religion as well as his support of publications who have released drawings of the Prophet Muhammad has led to several boycotts in Arab supermarkets.
Within Islam, it is prohibited to show any of the prophets depicted in any way.
Kuwait has been one of the several Arab countries banning French products from their shops, following a decision by the chair and board of directors of the Al-Naeem Cooperative Society, which owns branches of supermarkets.
Universities have also joined the boycotting movement. Qatar University postponed its French Cultural Week after the claims of "deliberate abuse of Islam and its symbols".
