Johnny Nash has died at 80 years old

"I Can See Clearly Now" singer Johnny Nash has died at home at the age of 80, his family announced.


According to Nash's son Johnny Jr., the American singer-songwriter died of natural causes yesterday after the quality of his health had been declining.


Nash, also known for his reggae music, was one of the first non-Jamaican artists to create reggae music within Jamaica's capital.


Being born in Houston, Texas, Nash began singing since he was a child, he gain chart success later with major hits including "A Teenager Sings the Blues", "Let's Move and Groove Together" and "Tears on My Pillow".


In 1973, Nash had an interview with Zoo World magazine where he said: "I feel that music is universal. Music is for the ears and not the age. Everybody likes music… from eight to 80."
