Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, says estimated and moderated grades from teachers to replace this year's cancelled GCSEs and A-levels.

Speaking in the House of Commons today, he announced that Ofqual would assess how the process would be carried out and said that it was essential for schools in England to provide "high-quality remote education".

Mr Williamson's announcement has been met by confusion and apprehension from the opposition and teaching unions, especially considering last summer's algorithm-calculated exam results.

The cancellation of this year's exams comes as England faces its third national lockdown.
