A study showed that working black and Asian police officers in London were paid £1.80 an hour less than their white peers in 2018. In 2017, the salary was £1.52.
The Force employs over 6,000 people from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.
Police constables in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have a starting salary of between 19,000 and £23,000, approximately.
The study comes as part of a 2018 governmental decision to put pressure on companies in the UK to release their salary figures in the public, revealing possible gender and ethnic pay gaps.
Similarly, a study into NHS England shortlisted applicants, found that 18% of those who got the job was white, as opposed to 11% which were from an ethnic minority background.
