Captain Sir Tom Moore has tested positive for coronavirus, his daughter revealed on social media yesterday.

Hannah said on Twitter that her 100-year-old father had been admitted to Bedford Hospital after being treated for pneumonia for the past few weeks.

It is thought that due to his medication for pneumonia, Captain Sir Tom has not received the vaccine for coronavirus.

While she revealed that Captain Sir Tom needed help with his breathing condition, she added that he was not in ICU.

The captain became a global sensation last year when he raised £33m for the NHS for walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.

As news of his condition circulated the internet, many supporters and well-wishers came forward for the Army veteran and inspirational NHS fundraiser.
