Search and rescue efforts have been resumed for an Indonesian passenger plane which is thought to have crashed into the ocean yesterday afternoon.
Warships and other boats have been deployed for the search of the wreckage and any passengers.
This comes as debris, supposedly from the Sriwijaya Air plane which was carrying 62 passengers, has been found in the Java sea.
Boeing 737 took from Jakarta airport, the primary transport hub for Java, at 2.36 pm (local time) and moments later disappeared from the radar after going in the wrong direction.
The authorities say that no distress signal was made nor received from the craft on its way to Pontianak in Borneo.
This news comes not only as another deeply saddening aviation accident for Indonesia but also for Boeing, who has faced similar disasters for the last couple of years resulting in hundreds of lives being lost at sea.
