Here are some key facts about the world's current largest Primark store, on High Street in Birmingham.

1) The store is the largest out of 365 sister stores across America and Europe.

2) The store itself spans over 160,000 square feet, across a five-floor complex.

3) The store includes a custom lab for customers to create personalised clothing. Additional features include a barber shop, a Disney-inspired cafe, a recycling point for clothing donations (of any brand) and a beauty studio.

4) The store can staff over 1,000 people.

5) It's opening day expects crowds of around 5,000 people.

6) The cost of the development is estimated to total around £70 million.

So it is this move a wise one?

Some might argue that the hefty price tag of this new store will not benefit Primark, as the chain does not have an online presence to make up for it.

Others suggest that with the decline of big names such as House of Fraser and Debenhams (who were taken over their lenders during an administration process earlier this week), there is an opportunity for Primark to learn and adapt to the ever-competitive and changing consumerism playing field.

According to analysts, the decline from big name stores could have been due to a lack of innovation and lack of investment.

Will the new Primark store be successful or a failure? As it stands today, high street's future alone is uncertain, so until Primark's consumer terrain is clarified, it may be a case of waiting to see what happens.
