Joe Biden continues his wave of executive orders to undo the previous administration's work as Donald Trump's impeachment trial looms.

The latest edition to President Biden's overturning includes the undoing of the ban on transgender people serving in the military and receiving medical care for their gender transition.

The move has earnt praised and support from the LGBTQ+ community who have been targeted since 2017 under former President Trump's ban.

While Democrats have praised the overturn as support for diversity and inclusiveness within the US military, Republicans have criticised it as a decision based on political correctness which could undermine national security.

This comes as the new president, sworn into office only last week, begins his presidency with a swarm of executive orders to unpick Donald Trump's work in the White House.

Mr Trump's impeachment trial, concerned over his "incitement" role in the Capitol Building attack on the 6th of January and his claims of voter fraud during and after the November 2020 presidential election, could begin as early as next month.

As more and more Republicans continue to flock towards party lines, the 17 needed to vote with the Democrats against Trump seems more and more unlikely.
