The 14-year-old son of US President Donald Trump caught COVID-19, the first lady reveals.
In an essay "My Personal Experience with Covid-19" posted on the White House website, Melania Trump described her feelings when Barron tested positive for the virus.
After she and President Trump found out that had contracted coronavirus around two weeks ago, her first concerns "went immediately to our son".
Initially, Barron's first test was negative, but a second test gave a positive result, despite him exhibiting no symptoms.
She wrote: "In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together,"
At a Trump rally yesterday in Iowa, the president stated that his son had a mild version of the virus for "such a short period of time".
He said: "Barron's tested positive. Within, like, two seconds it was Barron is just fine now. He's tested negative, right?"
"Because it happens. People have it and it goes. Get the kids back to school", Mr Trump added.
This comes as several people within the president's inner circle have tested positive for COVID-19, including Hope Hicks, Kayleigh McEnany and Stephen Miller.
